ABC Music & Me is an award winning music program that helps 2 to 6 year olds to develop pre-literacy and language skills through a child’s most beloved rituals: music and story time. We’ll sing songs and rhymes to develop phenomic awareness and expressive speech, play instruments to strengthen fine motor skills and improve hand-eye coordination, learn musical concepts and have lots of fun!

For 2 to 4 year olds with parent or caregiver:
In this class, you and your child will uncover an engaging musical world together in a warm and welcoming community. You’ll enjoy singing, moving, listening, interacting socially and playing instruments. This class is especially ideal for parents who want to attend class with an Imagine That aged child, or who would like siblings to attend class together. This semester, we’ll be visiting three different themes. (Edmonds and Renton will have all four themes over Winter and Spring Semester.)

On The Go - Put a new spin on trains and cars while we focus on fast and slow. We’ll develop your toddler’s rhythm, coordination, and imagination as we travel on foot, by wagon, by bus, and more!

Home Sweet Home – It’s time to cook, clean, and work with tools as we turn our classroom into a pretend house!
Our focus on low and high will include pitch and spatial awareness as we dance and sing.

Down on the Ground - We’ll take a Listening Walk and meet many animal friends along the way: insects, rabbits, squirrels, and dogs. Our focus will be on observation and imitation skills.

Up in the Sky - Look! It’s the sun, birds, the moon and stars and more! We’ll move in big and small ways to build coordination, expression, and imagination. Our focus will be on counting and color learning activities.

For 4 to 6 year olds alone:
This class takes you and your child on a musical journey of discovery and exploration. We’ll play instruments, enhance vocal development, and learn keyboard skills and musical concepts through activities that promote problem solving, self-confidence and individual expression. This class is especially ideal for those Imagine That aged children who are wanting more formal instruction, but not yet ready for Kindermusik for the Young Child. This semester, we’ll be visiting three different themes. (Edmonds and Renton will have all four themes over Winter and Spring Semester.)

Rhythms of the Land – We’ll explore the rhythms and sounds of Native American music. As we investigate, compare, and contrast a wide variety of drums and the materials they’re made from, your preschooler develops the investigative vocabulary needed in the sciences.

Sounds Abound – We’ll explore all the sounds we can make with our mouths, bodies, hands, plus everyday objects we can find around the house. Your preschooler will develop an early understanding of how one material can be used to make something else.

Dance With Me - We’ll feature the music and dance of “one-two” rhythms and “one-two-three” rhythms. In class, we’ll hear real instruments from the ballet and learn a few dance steps, too. Activities like dance helps to strengthen memory and ability to follow directions.

Drum, Drum, Drums! - Your child will experience the concept of fractions as we hear and play quarter and eighth notes. In class we’ll do “call and response” activities to the rhythmic sounds of African music. Meanwhile, your child will sharpen listening and attention skills, as well as fine tune her ear to finding patterns.

At Home Materials:
